The ultimate sleep arsenal.
Before you drop off your prescription for Ambien, try these natural sleeping aids. These four products have provided me with tremendous aid in getting a good night sleep. I can’t say enough about these products. I suffer from some anxiety and have had a very difficult time getting to sleep. I also use the three aromatherapy products listed here during the day to relieve stress.
Lavender essential oil – This one here is Aura Cacia organic lavender oil. I have tried several brands of lavender oil and they have all been very similar. Aura Cacia is widely available and this organic one is what was available to me at my time of purchase. I don’t think organic is necessary when purchasing an oil. I put about 3-4 drops on my pillow at bedtime. It instantly soothes me. I don’t recommend applying this one to skin as it can be irritating.
Essence of Vali Sleep – Bedtime Balm - This is an aromatherapy blend balm. Apply balm to pulse points and above upper lip at bedtime and/or in stressful times. This balm is a blend of lavender, cedarwood, marjoram and ylang/ylang in a base of almond oil, jojoba, beeswax, coconut and soybean oil. This is my favorite blends and it works wonders. This product is also available in oil form and sheet spray.
Badger Night- Night Balm - This is another blended balm that is also great. I prefer the previous, but I also like to have an alternative. This one is somewhat refreshing it is a blend of lavender, sandalwood, mandarin, spearmint and chamomile and it is certified organic. Apply this to pulse points and above upper lip at bedtime.
When choosing an aromatherapy product it is important that you enjoy the way it smells. Some people just don’t enjoy the smell of lavender and these people would not benefit from using it and the oil could quite possible have the opposite affect on them. So find a blend that you enjoy. After continued use on body skin may become irritated. I recommend taking a break from that product and using one that u could put on your pillow such as an oil or a spray.
The heavy stuff:
Relax-tone by Energenix – I purchased this product from my licensed holistic healthcare practitioner that is an MD. it is a combination of herbs. Consult your doctor before using. Herbs are just as strong as any prescription and some can have an interaction with prescription medicines. Dosage is 30 drops orally twice daily. When I first used this I started with 10 drops and within 20 minutes I was out in the middle of the afternoon. I then lowered the recommended dosage and have worked my way up. This stuff is no joke and it has been incredibly helpful at getting me to sleep. I am not a professional, I do not recommend this product to anyone without a doctors consent first. I am just here to share my personal experiences.
