Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish is a 2 phase cleansing system - “phase one is the cleansing. Free from mineral oil, it has a rich and creamy texture and swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make up, even stubborn mascara.” “Phase two is the polishing. Polish off the cream using the pure muslin cloth to gently dislodge dead skin cells and help to reveal clean, soft radiant skin.”  - from Lizearle.com

The Hot Cloth Cleanser is free of mineral oil and contains natural ingredients such as beeswax to protect and relieve chapped skin, Eucalyptus essential oil to cool and decongest, glycerin to aid in hydration, hops extract for its astringent and toning properties, d-panthenol to moisturize and help cellular renewal, cocoa butter to moisturize, rosemary essential oil for its stimulating and antioxidant properties, and chamomile essential oil to soothe.

To properly use this product, I take one pump of cleanser into my palm. Using my fingertips I massage the cream all over my face and neck area. I then take some more product and apply it onto eye area also concentrating on my lashes to remove mascara. I do this last so as not to spread eye makeup all over my face. I then take a hand-hot wrung out muslin cloth, provided in the set I purchased from Liz Earle, and gently (do not pull your face) wipe the cream off (this is the polishing step). Move to a clean side of the muslin cloth as you go along.

This is my second time blogging about this product. I have been using it regularly for about four months and thought it deserved a more complete post with a full size product picture. This creamy face cleanser is incredibly gentle and incredibly effective at moving all traces of makeup. I was amazed at first at how such a gentle cleanser could cleanse, even removing waterproof eye makeup without any stinging on my eye area. I was even able to open my eyes while this cleanser was on them. This cleanser works without stripping your skin of its natural oils, my skin did not feel dry and tight after use but actually moisturized. You can smell the eucalyptus oil right away, which I love and find very refreshing. However, people with sensitive skin might be irritated from the combination of eucalyptus and rosemary oils.

I love the second step of polishing my skin with a muslin cloth. I find it further helps in removing dirt and makeup from the skin and gives skin a thoroughly cleansed appearance. I used this product twice a day. In the mornings I use this cleanser to help exfoliate dead skin cells that have shed throughout the night. Did you know that our skin renews itself overnight shedding dead skin cells? So you should be using a polishing step in the mornings by using a facial cloth and choose a gentle one, please. This step will also help to give your skin a “glowing” look. I use this cleanser again in the evenings to remove makeup and before my second cleanse with my Clarisonic. I highly recommend this cleanser, you will find it listed under my favorite’s.

I purchased the 3.3 pump starter kit from us.lizearle.com (which included 4 muslin cloths)

This was my free gift with purchase, which I can’t wait to try!
