L’Occitane Firming and Smoothing Almond Supple Skin Oil – review and fragrance favorite

The Almond Supple Skin Oil from L’Occitane is a “firming and moisturizing body oil that protects skin and restores elasticity and suppleness.”  The Supple Skin Oil contains high concentrations of Almond Oil along with the essential oils peppermint, palmarosa and immortelle.

L’Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil is an indulgence I allow myself because it’s fragrance is a delight that I can’t quite deny myself. I’m sensitive to fragrances with such a finicky nose, so when I find one that brings me such pleasure, no matter what form it might take, I allow myself that indulgence. The Almond in the Almond Supple Skin Oil isn’t the one you will find in a kitchen. The fragrance is supple, clean, warm and incredibly inviting. It just so happens to be that the oil itself is an exceptional body moisturizer as well.

The Supple Skin Oil is a product geared toward woman during pregnancy for prevention of slack skin and stretch marks. I find it best to apply this oil to damp skin, it will cover with more ease while allowing you to use less product. You can very quickly run through this oil which is another reason I suggest applying it to damp skin. The oil is a heavier one and will certainly provide optimal moisture even when diluted. The Supple Skin Oil absorbs very quickly and wont leave you slick or greasy in any sense. What you can expect is intensely deeply nourished skin, a slight sheen, and a gorgeous fragrance.

The Almond Supple Skin Oil is top-notch as a moisturizer and gets a big recommendation from me. However with a $40 price tag I would hope this little bottle would stick around a bit longer than it does. Ultimitaley it is the scent that keeps me coming back. The ‘Amande’ line from L’Occitane also includes a ‘Smoothing Milk’ and a lovely moisturizing ‘Shower Oil’.

  1. Oh yes I’ve tried this, and I love it! I am a big fan of the shower gel as well. Actually I love just about everything in the range because of the scent! It’s just so lovely! Glad to hear you’re a fan too, Taylor 🙂

  2. I’ve really wanted to try this in the body shower oil for a long time, but fragrance in my body products is a no-no that I try to avoid. This sounds fabulous though, so I’m living vicariously through you Taylor!!

  3. This is also one of my all time favorites. The almond fragrance is heavenly. Have you tried the almond Huile de Douche? Nothing is better for shaving in my opinion.

  4. I too have a picky nose and certain scents actually make me nauseous for hours, so I can appreciate your sentiments about allowing yourself the indulgence when you find a scent you love! I love anything almond scented! This stuff looks amazeballs.

    1. yes, haha… I am the same way. I develop awful headaches and can become incredibly anxious. I can however appreaciate fragrances on others, luckily. I tend to go for fragrances that arent too complex and roll-on oils are easier bc they lack alcohol.

      1. Me too! Isn’t that beyond weird?! A close friend used to wear Miss Dior Cherie and I loved it! I thought it smelled so amazing! Unfortunately, I sprayed it on with wild abandon during Sephora visit and wound up with a headache and feeling green for the entire rest of the day! It’s so weird that it doesn’t bother the nose when someone else is wearing it!

  5. Sounds incredibly luxurious! I’m not too picky about scents, but some really rub me the wrong way, so I’m still very careful!

  6. Are you able to apply this and get dressed soon after without it getting your clothes oily? I really want to try this and the shower oil!

  7. My absolute fave! Love the scent, the texture and how it keeps my skin moisturized without feeling greasy. Paired with the shower oil, it’s the perfect combo for soft skin. I have repurchased so many times 🙂

  8. I haven’t tried something like this before, but you’ve made it sound so luxurious. I would definitely like to try this skin oil. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  9. I’ve got the shower gel and although the scent took some getting used to for me, I’m really liking i now! I do agree on the hefty price tag, you really gotta LOVE this one in order to spend $40 on it.

  10. Their almond line is just too damn good and in comparison to their other lines, this is by far my favorite from them. I love their shower oil, got it on sale at my local pharmacy without knowing how good it is. So glad I got it! I also like that it carries a subtle smell that doesn’t cause a headache for me too.
