When Skin Care Meets Sun Protection – Coola Organic Suncare

When is comes to natural and organic sun protection Coola has your covered! In addition to broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen protection, Coola Sunscreen’s contains additional ingredients to nourish and protect the skin naturally. The Coola brand then ups the ante by locally sourcing their ingredients and delivering us the most “pure and eco-friendly ingredients possible”, that are then manufactured in a solar-powered facility.

Coola Classic Face Sunscreen Cucumber Moisturizer SPF 30 $32

The Classic Cucumber Moisturizing Sunscreen contains an SPF of 30 with Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Along with SPF protection, Coola Sunscreen contains a very attractive list of skin care ingredients to further protect and nourish the skin. Some of the ingredients include Acai Oil which delivers anti-aging benefits and Organic Strawberry Extract soothes, tones and minimizes pores. Organic Evening Primrose and Linseed Oils reduce inflammation and balances moisture, while Plankton Extract rejuvenates the skin.

The Cucumber Moisturizer is a light and non-greasy formula that doubles as your daily moisturizer. On top of my serum and facial oil, the Cucumber Moisturizer adds a dose of SPF while providing additional benefits to my skin. It has the most delightfully light and fresh scent of cucumbers that I would love to intensify and bottle up into a fragrance spray. However, if fragrance isn’t your thing there is an unscented version available. I tote this one around in my beach bag along with the Coola Original Liplux.

Coola Mineral Face SPF 30 Matte Tint Unscented Sunscreen $36

The Mineral Face Matte tint is a Titanium Dioxide/Zinc Oxide combination sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. It contains Organic Rose Hip Oil to help fight free radicals with heavy doses of Vitamin C. Evening Primrose and Flax Seed Oils improves elasticity and help skin to retain moisture while Shea Butter hydrates and Plankton Extract rejuvenates.

The Matte Tint formula has a lightweight and invisible feel. The formula is incredibly silky and absorbs instantly without leaving any white residue. For a textural reference, think the Smashbox Photofinish Primer. A very small dollop of product is ample enough to cover your entire face and neck, about a pea-sized amount. The tint is very slight, so if you’re expecting coverage, you wont get it here. What it does is smooth the skin’s appearance and absorb any excess shine and oils, providing the perfect base for makeup. I do love my dewy finish and I find this product eliminates the excess amount of shine, helping to balance my skin between glowing and greasy. The Matte Mineral Tint Sunscreen is the perfect primer for summertime and a handbag staple for makeup days.

My only qualm with the Coola line is their pump packaging. I love the idea, however, it does take an excessive amount of pumping to get the product flowing. Other than that, Coola get’s big raves and high recommendations from me.

I’m digging matte sun matte sunscreen now! I’m tired of shiny face by the end of the day in the muggy Houston. Does the tinted sunscreen change the cot of your foundation?

  8. wheetnee says:

I don’t think I’ve seen a matte sunscreen around, that would be so useful for those hot oily days! I realized I’m not a fan of the cucumber scent after I used some of Fresh’s products that had cucumber in it. 😦

  9. I’ve been on the lookout for a go-to sunscreen for face (I have so much trouble finding one that doesn’t break me out) and the Mineral Matte sounds like it’s definitely worth a try!

  10. I’ve heard great things about this line and am going to have to try it I think. I’m intrigued by the matte tinted option – do you think the tint is sheer enough that it would work on darker skin tones as well?

  11. Renee says:

Coola is my fave! I recommend it to everybody, I love the cucumber face sunscreen. Buy it ladies!

  12. Latoya says:

This is IT! I MUST try that sunscreen, that is exactly what I need a sunscreen to be – physical sunscreens and matte. Fantastic, thanks Taylor!
