Gressa Skin ‘Non-Toxic Glamour’ and an Ode to Green Beauty

My journey into the world of “clean beauty” was a slow one, as my blog’s archives will prove. Only after reaping tremendous benefits from an all natural skin-care routine, was my curiosity then piqued to include healthier options into my makeup bag. I wasn’t quite ready to sacrifice on the performance of conventional cosmetics, so I set off on a mere “exploration” and made the decision to slowly integrate green beauty into my routine, if and only when I found a product that lived up to my beauty standards. Gressa Skin and the release of their Non-Toxic Glamour line of cosmetics created in me a die-hard green beauty buff.  Safer cosmetic alternatives that outperform their chemically laden counterparts are obtainable, as I have personally witnessed in Gressa’s line. Okay, enough rambling and onto the reviews.

Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation*

All hail the holy grail of serum foundations! I’ve personally sampled many serum foundations on the market, if only to quell my curiosity of all things “new” in terms of bases. The Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation from Gressa Skin, easily stands above the rest. The kicker? Its loaded with all organic skin-healthy ingredients that work to improve skin’s balance, clarity and radiance over time. It’s a formula of its own kind that provides medium-full coverage, as it layers well to suit your preference. Two drops of this innovative serum formula is plenty enough to cover the entire face and it applies effortlessly (you really don’t even need a mirror). My favorite way to apply the foundation is simply by dispersing the product onto the back of my hand and applying it with my fingertips. While the finish is matte, it is in no terms flat, but quite the opposite as it lends the skin a healthy glow. For reference, I have dry skin. One of the main attributes I seek from a foundation is an undetectable finish, and this is it! The Corrective Serum Foundation covers redness and uneven skin tone, as it blurs pores, leaving a flawless finish that wears all day. My only qualm about this formula is that it needs to be shaken well to prevent separation.

Minimalist Contouring Serum Bronzer*

The Minimalist Contouring Serum Bronzer is a highly pigmented bronzing liquid. When applied to the high points of the face, the serum bronzer lends the skin the most natural sun-kissed effect. It has been my go-to all summer long (I just purchased my second bottle), as it also upholds to the warm weather without budging. As the cooler weather approaches, I opt to apply the Serum Bronzer onto the hollows of my cheeks to make my cheekbones pop. Much like the Serum Foundation, the Serum Bronzer offers an undetectable skin-like matte finish. The bronzer, however, is heavy on pigment, so apply modestly and blend, blend, blend. I highly recommend using the Gressa Skin Air Focus Foundation Brush* for application, as its domed shape is perfect for strategic placement or all around blending.

I love Gressa! Having tried both Gressa and Kjaer Weis, how would you compare the two (wearability, finish, coverage, for specific skin types, etc.)? I have yet to try Kjaer Weis, but definitely want to.

Awesome post! I love Gressa so much! It’s amazing for me on days when I want something that just feels like skin and not so dressed up – just natural and benefiting my skin 🙂

  3. The foundation is at the top of my wishlist!
