The holidays are among us and it’s a perfect time to add a little extra glam to your look. It might sound a bit silly – but even to this day I still get a bit excited about planning my holiday makeup. Granted, my look isn’t anything too glamorous, but I am wearing a selection of new products that I’ve been loving. These days I’ve been really drawn to rose-golds and blush tones and this is a nod to that.
I’ve recently been enjoying Beautycounter’s Tint Skin Foundation. It’s light in coverage, however, more pigmented than your standard tinted moisturizer. The formula is beautiful and applies with little to no effort for a very natural “skin-like” finish. I wear the shade Linen – suitable for lighter skin tones. If you need anything Janis is my personal Beautycounter Rep and would love to help you. In keeping with the theme of rose gold, I added a drop of Free Love Beauty’s Lovechild Illuminating Oil* for a warm glow. Lovechild is a beautiful rose-gold shimmering oil that adds a very flattering warmth to the skin. I love to add it into my body oils, foundation, or directly on top of my existing makeup. You can read my review of Free Love Beauty’s Sunchild Illuminating Oil here. I additionally highlighted my face (although it’s not easy to see in this photo) with Modern Minerals Moonstone Cream Highlighter*.
I recently picked up Fitglow Beauty’s Sculp Blush and have been reaching for it daily. The formula is wonderful and I will certainly be checking out more from the brand. It silky, pigmented, easy to blend and lasts throughout the day. Sculp is the perfect shade for contouring, not too warm, not too cool and not “muddy” looking at all. I apply it using my new favorite Contour Brush from Teri Miyahira Beauty, which is now sold at Beauteabar.com. I’ve also been using it daily on my eyes for the perfect crease shade that goes with everything. One of my favorite blush shades (maybe ever!) is Jane Iredale PurePressed Blush in Flawless. This pink-nude shade is perfect for everyday and almost any makeup look.
On my lids I applied the Rituel de Fille Ash and Ember Eye Soot in Sigil, a shimmering pink-gold shade. The Ash and Ember Eye Soots are a unique product – not a cream, nor a powder, but something in between. They apply easily (I usually just use my fingertips) and offer buildable pigment. As I’ve mentioned before, I used Fitglow Beauty Sculpt Blush in my crease. For liner I used Tarte’s Tartiest Double Take Eyeliner, which features both a pencil and liquid liner. While I do enjoy the liquid side, I’m not a fan of the pencil (which I used here), while it barely smudges, it flattens after one use and cannot be sharpened. For the brows I used two products – the Jane Iredale Retractable Brow Pencil* in Blonde (although I usually use Dark) and Glossier Brow Boy in Blonde – I highly recommend both, depending on your needs.
Lips & Nails:
Sending you all lots of love and wishing you a wonderful holiday season.
