Brighter, Smoother Eyes with Kahina Giving Beauty

I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about Kahina’s Prickly Pear Seed Oil time and again. High in amino acids, Vitamin K, essential fatty acids, this powerhouse ingredient performs miracles at brightening the under eye area. This truly transformational oil has given me mind-blowing results, and in a fairly short amount of time I’ve experienced its powers. Two new products from Kahina Giving Beauty lets us experience the wonders of their PPSO oil, now in an easy to apply rollerball format and again in their reformulated Eye Serum*.

Kahina Giving Beauty Prickly Pear Seed Oil Rollerball*

When I first discovered Kahina’s Prickly Pear Seed Oil a little under a year ago, I’ve been a die-hard fan since. You see, dark under-eye circles were my greatest skin care concern. I’ve sampled and tossed dozens of eye creams, and had lost much hope that I would ever be able to change the dark pigmentation under my eyes. So, when I experienced the brightening effects of Kahina’s Prickly Pear Seed Oil** (before my eyes) under my eyes, my mind was blown. I noticed a change after just one week, and continued to see results weeks later, not to mention substantial growth in my eye lashes. My mother also swears by PPSO for lightening her dark spots.

I guess you can say, I’m pretty psyched to discover the new stainless steel roller ball applicator for targeted application to the eye area. The stainless steel ball feels cool to the touch and works additionally to reduce puffiness. It gently rolls across the skin, releasing the perfect amount of product. This is a product I’ll never be without!

Kahina Giving Beauty Eye Serum*

Kahina’s best-selling Eye Serum is now super-charged with the magical benefits of PPSO. This weightless serum absorbs instantly and works beautifully under makeup. I personally like to use the oil at night and the serum in morning, or sometimes I layer both at night. Since introducing the Serum into my routine, I’ve noticed my eyes are far less puffy. The Eye Serum is rich in peptides and antioxidants and works to:

• Increase lymphatic drainage to reduce puffiness
• Increase microcirculation to minimize dark circles
• Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
• Restore collagen and improve elasticity

The Eye Serum and Rollerball Prickly Pear Seed Oil are a dynamic duo that outperform and receive my highest recommendations.

RMS Beauty Swift Shadows

RMS Beauty, the supermodel favorite brand responsible for glowing complexion everywhere, releases their new long-awaited pressed powder eye shadows, aptly named the Swift Shadows. As a long-time fan of RMS, a brand responsible for igniting my passion for green beauty, I was thrilled to see this new product and a nod toward the everyday woman desiring a lower maintenance pressed powder formula.

“Formulated for those who prefer powder instead of cream eye shadows, RMS Beauty Swift Shadows are designed for quick and easy application. Mixed with the industry’s best mineral color pigments, Rose-Marie’s favorite wild-crafted Buriti Oil and organic Jojoba Oil, Swift Shadows will not dry out the lid like traditional formulas. Unlike other powder eye shadows, Swift Shadows are pressed, not baked, which avoids heat exposure and preserves the integrity of the raw ingredients.”

Available in 18 beautifully wearable shades, the Swift Shadows are split into six color categories:

  • Twilight Madness (grey / black)
  • Sunset Beach (yellows / golds)
  • Tempting Touch (beiges / tans)
  • Tobacco Road (greens / browns)
  • Garden Rose (pinks)
  • Enchanted Moonlight (purples / burgundies)

The original Eye Polishes are beyond, but (lets be real) not the best formula for everyday wear. I’m happy to report that fans of the Polishes will love the new Swift Shadow formula. The new shadows offer a similar light-reflective metallic finish and pigment, but with long-wear and no creasing. When applied dry, the shadows easily blend to deposit a sheer wash of color, while the texture is buttery smooth and almost creamy. My favorite way to use the Swift Shadows is wet, the pigment intensifies and the light-reflective (almost wet) quality can be compared to that of the original creams. After playing around with two shades, I did find that the shadows are not all created equal.

Sunset Beach SB-48 is a golden apricot

Garden Rose GR-12 is a medium bronzed-rose

As you can see in the images above, the pigment and reflective quality of the shadows are intensified when wet. While GR-12 is absolute perfection in my opinion, for its performance both wet and dry, SB48 does not apply as well – but still a great shadow nonetheless.

Meet My New Best Friend – The Pranamat Eco

In a non-beauty related review, lets talk back pain! There is a funny thing that happens once you hit your thirties and that is the very noticeable presence of aches and pains. I truly feel like I went from 29 to 80. With the addition of a slipped disk, chronic pain and fibromyalgia, my back is one area that gives me a ton of trouble. Simply sitting at my desk, standing for too long, and lifting anything over 20 pounds could potentially cause the onset of pain. When Pranamat Eco* reached out to see if I would like to try one of their massage mats, I was totally game!
