When YSL released their Rouge Volupté ‘Shine’ lipsticks earlier this year I ordered #8 ‘Pink in Confidence’ right away (full review here). I am a huge fan of the original formula and was quickly won over with the new ‘shinier’ version. Since swatching the colors in store I picked up two additional shades which I am sharing with you today. The Rouge Volupté Shine Lipsticks are housed in the signature YSL gold packaging with a color indicator ‘belt’. The ‘Shine’ lipsticks are as smooth as the originals with a glossy finish. One swipe imparts bold color and when layered the color as well as the shine is increased.
Pink in Devotion #6 (bright hibiscus pink)
Pink in Confidence #8 (a dusty pale pink)
Pink in Paris #13 (a rose pink)
The photos above show how the product increases in pigment and shine when layered. The Rouge Volupté Shine are incredibly comfortable and highly moisturizing. The shade ‘Pink in Devotion’ #6 contains a visible amount of shimmer.

The Dior Addict Glosses have been revamped, reformulated and re-released in a selection of 24 new shades for Spring. The new glosses are formulated to create a “plumping” effect. They contain hyaluronic spheres to help to keep lips moisturized. The glosses are available in three finishes, shimmer (iredescent sparkle), pearl (micro-shimmer) and pure (cream).
The Dior Addict glosses are lightweight without any tacky feel. The comfortable and moisturizing formula has a faint sweet scent that is barely detectable once applied. If you’re looking for bold color, you wont find it here. I have found most shades to be quite sheer with slight variations of opacity. Though it is a ‘plumping’ formula you will not experience any tingling sensation. I can’t personally determine whether or not this gloss creates a fuller look, though any gloss in general will create the illusion of a fuller lip. The shimmering particles help to add to this effect.
Délice is a sheer peach shade with gold shimmer. The gold shimmer is utterly dazzling in person and without it, the shade would be quite ordinary. My photos could not quite capture just how lovely it is. The micro-shimmer particles are not gritty on the lips, the gloss is soft and smoothe.
I have paired Dior Addict Lip Gloss in Delice along with Dior Vernis in Delice. The sheer quality of the gloss doesnt create a perfect match between the two, although they are created to be layered. Dior Addict Lipstick in Delice would create a perfect match when layered with the gloss. (A review of Dior Addict Lipstick in Diablotine coming soon.)

Have you tried the new glosses from Dior? Thoughts?
Dior has recently revamped their Addict Glosses and released an extensive selection of 24 new shades for Spring, along with 4 polishes and 16 lipsticks. Upon viewing the captivating display at my local Dior counter, I had a sudden case of pretty overload. Luckily, I came into the store with intent, otherwise, I would have been utterly hopeless and unable to maintain focus. The polishes were first on my list, particularly Délice.
Délice is one of the four sparkling shades released, along with Diablotine, Spring Ball, and Princess, as well as a Gel Top Coat. The polishes each have a lipstick and gloss pairing, lending a complementary sparkling shine to your lips and your tips. The varying selection of pink and coral shades are all winners in my book, though I narrowed my personal selection to Délice and Diablotine.
Délice has been my introduction into the world of Dior Vernis. I will take a minute to go over the overall product. The awkward rectangle silver cap pops off revealing a round grooved top better suited for application. I have quickly become a huge fan of Dior’s Brush which makes application incredibly easy and foolproof. The brush is wide and flat, the bristles rounded at the sides giving me a greater amount of control. I had no polish fall onto the cuticle area, resulting in zero clean-up.
Délice is a bright and bold orange-coral shade with gold, silver and pink shimmer. I have no gripes with this formula, it’s a stunner. I experienced no streaking or running and it wore long without any chipping. The opaque formula covers in one coat and you could easily get away without a second. The polish doesn’t offer the shiniest finish and a quick coat of high-shine top coat is recommeded, my personal choice is of seche-vite.

I have a review of the shade Diablotine coming soon as well as some other goodies I picked up from the collection.

Giving some background, my hair is on the finer side and dry and damaged from hair color processes and from exposure to heat styling tools. I have been using this mask regularly for about 2 months now and have experienced great results. I swap it out for my regular conditioner about every other day or every two days. I leave the DermOrganic mask on for the duration of my shower, or as long as I can. My hair feels instantly silky and free or any tangles. Even when used with this frequency it never feels weighed down. My hair feels deeply conditioned and more manageable. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone of any hair type seeking a deep conditioning mask.
DermOrganic Masque comes in several sizes from travel to full-size $8-36
Laura Mercier recently released eight new shades of their cult classic Caviar Stick Eye Colour for spring. Orchid is one of the new shades released along with grey pearl, rosegold, mint snow, sand glow, sugar frost, and seashell.
Since recently discovering the Caviar Eye Colour Sticks from Laura Mercier, I have been absolutely smitten. The shadow sticks make application a breeze, just a few swipes gives you bold color. You can easily blend them using your fingertip, or a synthetic eyeshadow brush creating a look in seconds. Darker shades can be used to create the perfect smokey eye, or you can simply just use it as a liner. The creamy formula provides exceptional wear.
Orchid is a lavender shade that’s heavy on the shimmer. In some lighting, it appears more mauve and in other a more cool-toned blue. This shade is a bit of a deviation from my standard. I must admit though, I find it incredibly wearable. It also looks lovely paired with amethyst, I’ll just pop some on the center of my lid for some added dimension.
I kept everything else simple and just added some lashes and a swipe of mascara in the below look. Orchid also looks stunning paired with a contrasting shade of coral on the lips or cheeks.
In this look:

- Make Up For Ever False Eyelashes 105
- W3LL People Universalist #2 (inner corners)
- L’oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara
