Dreamy Picks: March

Dreamy-Picks-March-2015-2

  • Lina Hanson recently debuted her Satori Perfume Oil, as I reviewed here. This blend of warm vanilla, sandalwood, yuzu and ginger is utterly intoxicating, and an easy stand-out amid my favorites for the month.
  • Au Naturale’s Lipstick in Innocence has been my daily go-to since I first got my hands on it. It’s the perfect soft pink and has a balmy texture. I’m nearly close to finishing it, which is something I’ve only done once before. If your curious as to what that lipstick was, it was MAC Bubbles. I was 16 and had a white, shimmery pout and I loved it.
  • Jane Iredale’s Lip Definers are deliciously creamy, a favorite formula for sure. The shade Spice is the perfect pinky-nude, that is just a touch deeper than my natural lip color. It pairs brilliantly with Au Naturale Innocence.
  • Kari Gran Lip Whips are a divine treat for your pout. The shade Radiance is a beautiful glossy pink, that is perfect on it own, or layered over any lip shade. (review)
  • Prickly Pear Seed Oil is having moment. I am unequivocally a devout fan of this precious wonder oil (review). I apply Kahina’s Pricky Pear Seed Oil to my eye area, both day and night. The results have been nothing short of a miracle. My under eye area has significantly lightened, so much so, that I have been able to switch up my under-eye concealer to one that offers less coverage. Which leads me to…
  • Though not nearly short on coverage, the RMS “Un” Cover Up is a brilliant under-eye concealer. It’s no secret, as this product is highly coveted by the industry elites. It covers, yet offers an undetectable finish ‘goals’. I do like to set the ‘Un” Cover Up with the RMS “Un” Powder, as the formula is quite creamy. (review)
  • Speaking of “undetectable finishes”, I introduce you to the ‘mother’. The Gressa Minimalist Serum Foundation is one ingenious formula. Forget that it’s completely natural, forget that it is actually good for your skin. This formula trumps all serum foundations on the market today, be it ‘clean’ or not. Two to three drops is all that is needed. It glides across your face with no effort at all, leaving behind the most natural coverage. I am currently wearing a mix of shades 3 and 4.
  • Kumari Luxury Sandalwood and Magnolia Body Oil makes me feel as though I’m spoiling myself on the regular. I am smitten with the fragrance of this oil, and of course I adore how it nourishes my skin. (review)
  • I have recently posted about the Imbibe Pearl Essence Cleansing Mineral Treatment. This  powdered cleanser effectively washes away impurities in the most gentlest way. I’ve been adding this versatile treatment powder into my shampoo, as recommended, with excellent results. It has been helping to normalize my finicky scalp.
  • The Jurlique Wrinkle Sofening Cream is an excellent moisturizer for dry skin. I’m not certain why I haven’t shared this product yet, though I feel a review is certainly in order. This is my second tube and a go-to for when I’m in need of extra moisture. In considering the recent weather conditions here in New York, I’ve been reaching for this one regularly.

The Contour Cream also contains a blend of exquisite natural oils, cocoa butter, beeswax and essential oils to provide optimal hydration and anti-aging benefits. The addition of bee venom (derived from cruelty-free extraction practices) stimulates blood flow to the skin triggering the production of collagen and elastin.

Skin Care Routine Roundup III

Since my last skin care roundup post I’ve discovered some new and incredible products. Also as a skin care fanatic, I am always testing some recently acquired additions. One huge standout these past couple of months is the S.W. Basics Toner. This products alone has completely cured a nasty bout of Seborrheic Dermatitis that I was dealing with. Another favorite is the Shea Terra Cleanser which continues to keep me blemish-free.

Skin Care Routine Day/night

A look at my current skin care routine

  1. John Masters Organics Bearberry balancing face wash – A fantastic cleanser for my combination skin. I switch off between this and a salicylic acne wash in the AM. See my review here. Get it at JohnMasters.com
  2. 100% Pure Organic Rose Hydrosol – Used as a toner after cleansing and throughout the day to refresh my skin in hot temperatures. Get it here.
  3. Arcona Magic White Ice AM/PM – A great serum chock full of antioxidants used to protect my skin from environmental factors and for additional hydration. I do switch up my serums when I am finished with them, but I do love this one, it has done a lot for my skin. Get it here.
  4. Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Day Cream – I’m a big fan of Weleda skin care products and this cream is divine. This product is a staple for me. Get it here.

  1. John Masters Organics Bearberry Balancing Face Wash – I use this in the PM as well to thoroughly cleanse my skin of dirt and makeup with my Clarisonic Mia.
  2. Dermae Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser – I will use this cleanser about 2 nights per week in place of my John Masters cleanser to help exfoiliate my skin. I only use this twice a week because it can be very drying. Get it here.
  3. Arcona Magic White Ice AM/PM
  4. Clarins Multi-Active Night – A n excellent moisturizing night cream that plumps dehydration lines and has many anti-aging benefits. This is a staple item for me. Get it here.
  5. Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil – I will add this aromatic oil to my moisturizer on the days that my night cream just won’t do. It is incredibly beneficial for dry skin, it instantly plumps and leaves your skin radiant. See my review here. Get is at Nordstom.com
  6. Clarsonic Mia – Hands down the most important step of my skin care routine. I use this every single night with a foaming cleanser to deeply cleanse my skin. My skin has considerably changed since the introduction of this to my daily routine. I suffered from adult acne earlier on and completely cleared it up thanks to a skin cleansing device.  This is the one item I would never want to do without. It also prepares your skin for the absorption of skin creams. Worth every penny. I previously used one by Olay Pro X which was a great cleansing system but upgraded to this sturdier and rechargeable version. See a post I did here on adult acne.

  1. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask – This mask is my favorite. I have been using it since I was 15. It deeply cleanses and instantly brightens my skin. This mask continues to work for my skin after 14 years. I think that says something. Get it at Origins.com
  2. Philosophy The Microdelivery Mini Peel Pads – Again I have been using this product for many years. I love the way my skin looks and feels after use. I will use in the evenings and sleep with it on, sometimes with a light moisturizer on top, or alone. Get it at Sephora.com

Did any of these products Pique your interest? What are your skin care staples? I would love to here.
