The #1 Polish You Need This Season – Deborah Lippmann Blue Orchid

From Deborah Lippmann’s Spring 2014 Collection, Blue Orchid is a dreamy pale blue that mimics the afternoon sky, without a cloud in sight. This pretty pastel blue is the perfect shade to wear this spring and well into summer. If you’re thinking of picking up just one blue polish this season, let this be it.

Blue Orchid is a crème polish that applies like a dream and covers in one coat. It is as well one of the longest wearing polishes I’ve ever come across. I went a good week with barely a note of wear. This beauty is an absolute must!

Too Faced Exotic Eye color in Petals to the Metal

Too Faced Exotic Eye Color in Petals to the Metal

A truley unique color with a brown base and blue/green shimmer. Apply sheer for a light shimmering effect or built it up for a more dramatic look as I did here. A great color to make green or blue eyes pop. This is my second purchase of this color which was previously called Label Whore. It is my go to for a dramatic Nighttime look.

NOTD – Tiffany Blue and Gold Caviar Mani

Tiffany Blue and Gold Caviar Mani

What I used left to right:

  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
  • Essie Mint Candy Apple
  • Opi Glitzerland
  • Recollections micro beads in Champagne

I painted my nails, all except for the ring fingers, with Essie’s Mint Candy Apple and waited for them to dry completely before creating the caviar look. I then painted my ring fingers each with one coat of Opi’s Glitzerland. I applied a second coat of glitzerland to one finger and poured gold microbeads on nail while still wet. I applied a rather thick coat. I placed a paper dish underneath my work area to catch the fallen microbeads.

I pressed the microbeads into the nail polish immediately making sure they are lodged in the polish. I then applied some clear top coat to the tip of the nail. This look needs a lot of drying time.

I enjoy trying out new looks and trends, however I wasnt a huge fan of the caviar mani and have downplayed it a bit by only doing one nail. The freaky 3D effect will certainly have your man running in the other direction. Well, to each his own, have fun with your style.

Spring Nail Trends – Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream

Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream

I’m a sucker for anything mermaid. This sparkly blue/green nail polish caught my eye as I passed by it and after reading the name I had to own it. I love the mermaid trends seen on the spring runways (a la Chanel).  This nail polish screams mermaid tail, I love it! I’m not big into sparkles and nail art but I think this will be super fun this summer. I cant wait to see this color on my toes between the sand. You can get it at Beauty.com
