The ‘Trianon Collection’ for Spring 2014 from Dior features the ‘limited edition’ shimmering matte top coat called Perlé. With a weakness for Dior’s sparkly shades, I was immediately drawn to this unique topper. Perlé has a frost matte finish which adds a pale pink, pearlescent finish to any polish. When worn on its own, its creates a no-fuss clean look that dries in an instant.
The Perlè Matte Top Coat contains pink and lavender shimmer and dries to a frosty finish. Though technically a top coat, I enjoy wearing Perle alone for a quick and easy mani. When applied to clean nails the top coat dries instantly. The finish is feminine, clean, yet quite unique.

As a top coat, Perlé dosnt complement every shade. I find it best suits nudes and lighter pinks, as it has a strong white, frosty finish. Personally I adore the Top Coat on top of nudes like Essie’s Topless and Barefoot. Perlé is not quick drying and takes some down time.

YSL Vert D’orient La Laque Nail Laquer is a one of three shades released in the Summer 2013 Collection. I’m big on green and teal polishes, although I have held off for a while since its release. I think my turning point was when Teri from Bella Chique dazzled me with her imagery of Vert D’orient. I have since picked it up and introduced myself into he world of YSL’s Nail Laquer, yet another product in the YSL line that does not disappoint!
The YSL Nail Laquer formula creates a perfect mani with the greatest of ease. The formula’s consistency is perfect. It glides on nails without ever pooling into your nail beds, thus requiring absolutely no clean-up. The YSL Nail Laquer has a wide and flat brush similar to Dior, though not tapered on the sides. Personally, this brush worked better for me as someone with larger nail beds. Those with more petite nail beds might prefer the brush on the Dior. Nonetheless, the formula is exquisite and along with the brush I can honestly deem this one my favorite formula.
Vert D’Orient is a green/teal with a creme finish. Vert seems to carry more blue tones or more green tones depending on the lighting. I don’t find the shade that unusual and it might certainly be dupable. However that formula is not! Vert D’orient had a long wear time without chipping. The YSL formula is absolutely one to try. I also recommend it to those who struggle with a shaky hand, it seems to do the work for you.

Dior’s Addict Gloss Collection is made to be mixed and matched for hundreds of possibilities. “Four shimmering shades of Dior Addict lipstick and four, pure, more sophisticated shades of Dior Addict Extreme allows you to have fun and create your own custom-made look.” Today I have the coordinating shade Diablotine on my lips and tips.
Diablotine “displays the sensual red of a fiery temptress or, of a Trafalgar dress, straight out of a Dior show.” This sheer muted-red is easy to wear, I wont need to wait for an event to wear this ‘everyday’ red-shade. The Dior Addict Extreme lipstick packs gorgeous pigment and wears comfortably, providing my lips with an extra dose of moisture. Layering this lipstick provides more pigment along with some extra sheen. It’s not the best for longevity but the low maintenance, slick formula makes it easy to reapply.
I have swatched Diablotine in the photo above, first with one coat and then layered. I adore this shade paired under the shimmering Dior Addict Gloss on Etoilee 013, which adds incredible dimension. Diablotine Addict Extreme Lipstick pairs perfectly with Diablotine Nail Polish.

Dior released four nail polish shades for Spring in their ‘Sparkling Shine’ Collection. I was absolutely smitten with these shimmering shades as soon as I spotted them. I have already shared with you my review of Délice. Teri from BellaChique.com has a lovely review of Spring Ball and the manicurator.com has some incredible swatches of Princess. Today I am sharing with you my absolute favorite of the bunch, Diablotine #643.
Diablotine is a red-coral with pink and gold shimmer. The formula is exquisite as per usual and the flat/tapered brush makes application incredibly easy. The polish easily covers in one coat. Two coats lasted me five days without chipping.
The shimmer in Diablotine is beautiful and in the sunlight it’s utterly captivating. My photos have not quite captured just how lovely this shade is. It appears more flat in my photos than when viewed it in person.
I also picked up Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick in Diablotine which I will share with you this week.

The Dior Addict Glosses have been revamped, reformulated and re-released in a selection of 24 new shades for Spring. The new glosses are formulated to create a “plumping” effect. They contain hyaluronic spheres to help to keep lips moisturized. The glosses are available in three finishes, shimmer (iredescent sparkle), pearl (micro-shimmer) and pure (cream).
The Dior Addict glosses are lightweight without any tacky feel. The comfortable and moisturizing formula has a faint sweet scent that is barely detectable once applied. If you’re looking for bold color, you wont find it here. I have found most shades to be quite sheer with slight variations of opacity. Though it is a ‘plumping’ formula you will not experience any tingling sensation. I can’t personally determine whether or not this gloss creates a fuller look, though any gloss in general will create the illusion of a fuller lip. The shimmering particles help to add to this effect.
Délice is a sheer peach shade with gold shimmer. The gold shimmer is utterly dazzling in person and without it, the shade would be quite ordinary. My photos could not quite capture just how lovely it is. The micro-shimmer particles are not gritty on the lips, the gloss is soft and smoothe.
I have paired Dior Addict Lip Gloss in Delice along with Dior Vernis in Delice. The sheer quality of the gloss doesnt create a perfect match between the two, although they are created to be layered. Dior Addict Lipstick in Delice would create a perfect match when layered with the gloss. (A review of Dior Addict Lipstick in Diablotine coming soon.)

Have you tried the new glosses from Dior? Thoughts?
Released earlier this year, the Diorskin Nude BB Creme is a makeup with naturally derived skin care ingredients. “Its light, blending texture delivers seamless correction and bathes the face in a unique rosy glow.” The BB Creme is available in “four expert shades to match every skintone.”
In following trend from Asia, companies have been releasing BB creams left and right for quite a while now. I have tried many and none have been quite up to par with the asian versions. While I found some formulas to be moisturizing they considerably lacked in coverage. I didn’t have very high hopes from Dior’s new release. Although upon swatching it, I knew immediately that it held promise. Dior has given us the coverage we wanted and comes in the shades we have so intensely desired.
Diorskin Nude BB Creme provides light to medium coverage. The creamy formula blends seamlessly into skin with just my fingertips. It provides moderate coverage yet leaves a completely natural finish. It’s a low maintenance product that leaves me with flawless looking skin without much effort on my part.
The BB Creme doesnt require me to powder. The finish is not oily in any sense yet it does provide me with a healthy glow. I actually find this product to be a bit dry on my skin, so I make sure to moisturize well beforehand. I think this product would suit just about any skin type.
I picked up the shade #002 fair. Upon first swatching this shade it was light with more yellow tones. After several minutes the shade deepens, losing some yellow tones and leaning more beige. The color does not continue to deepen as time goes on. Without some self-tanning this shade would be a bit to deep for me. I highly recommend allowing some time to see how the color develops on your skin before purchase.
I must mention that as well as a combination skincare and makeup, the Dior BB Cream is marketed as a sunscreen as well with a spf of 10. The directions state to apply this product 15 minutes before sun exposure and to reapply every 2 hours. I personally disregard this information and have chosen to use this as a makeup and not for daily sunscreen protection.
I love this product for it’s natural finish and low maintenance application. It has become a regular product in my routine for my “days off.”

I picked up this sweet little Dior set from Sephora recently. A great value at $28.50, the price of the New Look Mascara alone. It features a full-sized Mascara in black and a mini 5 Couture Colour Eyeshadow palette in 734 Grège. Please note that on the Sephora website it says that the palette is Royal Khaki, but in the end I did receive Grège. The image of the palette on the website does seem to be the Grege palette.
The Diorshow New Look Mascara is formulated with a “Lash Amplifier ingredient, for instant lash-multiplying action and exclusive pigments that create a deeper, more dramatic color that won’t smudge.” What I loved about the mascara personally is the “nano-brush”, a smaller brush which makes it easier to coat every lash and get into the corners of eyes. The brush is also great for applying mascara to lower lashes by giving you more control and preventing smudges.
The formula is thick and quickly leads to clumping. I personally recommend using a lighter hand when applying. I curled my lashes before applying the mascara. I found, which I often find with non-waterproof formulas, is that the mascara failed to hold the curl on me. It did however add lots of length and volume, but ultimately left me with that “spider-leg” look. While the New Look Mascara is not really my formula, I think that there are a ton of people out there that might just love it. I suggest taking a look and the photos and judging for yourself.
On a higher note, I loved the palette. While the shades look quite ordinary in the compact they are a very lovely selection of neutrals. When applied they came together creating a lovely look with lots of dimension. I loved how the color played off each other. The shadows themselves are fairly pigmented and velvety rather than powdery. They applied with great ease and blended perfectly. They lasted all day one me. While this is officially my first time playing in the world of Dior eyeshadow palettes, I don’t see it as my last.
The shadows are swatched by first shadow on the top left, clockwise, ending in the center. Most shades contained shimmer except for the third which was more satin. The shimmer was mostly subtle and more apparent in the two lightest shades.
