In all their glory, beachy waves are full of texture and volume, with an effortlessly sexy appeal. Contrary to belief, a day at the beach won’t create that ideal post beach mussed-up wave we desire. Luckily there are a plentitude of salt sprays on the market that help to achieve that perfectly imperfect look. Captain Blankenship hits the mark with their Sea Salt Sprays, created with all natural and organic ingredients. Their original Mermaid Sea Salt Hair Spray, and Ray of Light Sea Salt Sun Spray* brilliantly achieves Siren worthy salty locks.
I’ve had the blessed opportunity over the years to sample some incredible products from amazing brands. While I have sampled my fair share of duds that don’t even make it to the achieves of MLD, my heart still races when I come across that certain gem. This reassures me that the ‘beauty enthusiast’ inside me is still very much alive and well. Kumari Luxury’s line of body and skin care has wowed me since day one. The certain gem that I am referring to today, is their Hair Oil Treatment. With an exemplary formula comprised of Ayurvedic oils, this is the ‘mother’ of hair oils.
Kumari Luxury Hair Oil Treatment was inspired by founder, Aarti Gala’s Indian heritage and a sweet beauty ritual passed down from her mother.
“When I was young, my mother always showed me the importance of taking time to enjoy the moment. Every week, she would break away from her busy schedule for a little ritual that I still remember to this day. At the end of a long day, she would put everything aside, take out her amazing Ayurvedic hair oils from India, and massage oil into my hair before sending me off to sleep. Those cherished moments, the happy silence, the fragrance of the hair oil, and the feeling of absolute comfort and relaxation are what led me to create Kumari Luxury.” – Aarti Gala
The Luxury Hair Oil contains a blend of all natural and organic oils, spices, and essential oils and smells of Kumari’s signature sandalwood and magnolia fragrance.
Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil*, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Nut Oil*, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Magnolia Acuminata Extract, Santalum Spicatum (Sandalwood), Eclipta Alba*, Rubia Cordifolia*, Sida Cordifolia*, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric)*, Glycrrhiza Glabra (Licorice)*, Hemidesmus Indicus Root*, Withania Somnifera* and Messua Ferra (Saffron). *Certified Organic Ingredients
Kumari’s Luxury Oil Treatment is a pre-shampoo treatment, and suggested to be worn overnight for best results. Simply use the dropper to apply the treatment directly to the scalp, then continue to coat the hair from roots to tips. Generally we are told to apply hair treatment oils to the ends of hair, avoiding the scalp. As someone who has a generous accumulation of oils on their scalp already, I was a bit apprehensive about this step. I know by logic that oil repels oil, but even so, I feared the state of my hair post shampoo. As the good beauty guinea pig that I am, I ensued with great measure.
What makes Kumari’s Hair Oil Treatment different? A surprising ascertainment that I gained when using the oil, is that while your hair is surely coated, it doesn’t feel greasy, to my surprise. I felt no reservation when laying my head to my pillow at night. There was no surplus of oils leaving behind an oil slick, nor did I feel at any time uncomfortably greasy. Not to mention the magnolia and sandalwood fragrance, while not overbearing, is utterly exquisite. The oil treatment easily washes away with one shampoo, leaving no residue behind. You can go about your day as planned, with only the added addition of lustrous, healthy, and more manageable locks. Not to mention, the treatment has helped to neutralize the oils in my scalp, leaving it more balanced. My hair blows out more quickly after use, and the damage I have endured from heat styling is reversed. I use this treatment weekly to keep my hair in its best shape. This oil is perfect for anyone seeking healthy shiny hair, no matter your hair type.
What is sexy? Confidence is sexy. No matter what is that makes you feel your most beautiful, stick to that and don’t alter it for anyone. Whether it be smoky eyes, pink lips, blue lips, black lace or velour onesies, go with it. Need some suggestions? Her are a few suggestions.

The invoking combination creates a warm and sultry bouquet.

Have you ever tried a hair product so good that it you change your hairstyle? Until now, I hadn’t either, let me explain. This curly girl relied on damaging hot hair tools. It was a blow dryer, flat-iron and a curling iron for the win. That is until Aroma M’s Camellia Oil came along and everything changed. This marvelous blend of oils suddenly had my hair making all the right moves. My flat-iron has since taken a back seat as I just blow and go.
The line of Aroma M Beauty was created in inspiration for Japanese culture and aesthetics. More specifically, the world of Kyoto Gion Geisha’s. Camellia Oil has long been refered to as a symbol of wealth, virtue and happiness in Japan and is the main ingredient in Aroma M’s Beauty products. The Camellia Hair oil contains a blend of natural and organic oils, including Camellia, Argan and Jojoba as well as Rosemary and Tuberose Essential Oils.
The Camellia Hair Oil from Aroma M will not weigh down your hair, unlike other oils. This perfect blend performs quite the opposite actually. It creates incredible body and bounce. After even just one use my hair felt significantly healthier and happier. The youth of my hair was restored, as I noticed incredibly shiny locks. My frizz is diminished and my hair has taken on a new life. I must as well note the oils contains the soft and feminine fragrance of Camellia flowers and Tuberose.
I apply a few drops of the Camellia Hair oil onto damp hair and blow dry. As a pre-shampoo treatment, apply to wet hair and leave on hair for 20 minutes then shampoo out. Instead of reaching for the straight iron, I now let my hair falls as it may. Instead of dictating my style, my style dictates me in the form of great hair. Aroma M’s Camellia Hair Oil has become a new staple for me. At $55 US, I find it well worth the expense.

You might have seen some mentions of Kahina’s Argan Oil over the past month on My Lucite Dreams. I have been anxious to share with you my thoughts on this little bottle of “liquid gold”. This 100% organic argan oil has been a savior to my skin this winter. Before my review I just want to mention a few words about Kahina, argan oil, and the superior quality of their products.
What is argan oil?
Argan oil has been used for centuries by the indigenous woman of Morocco to protect their skin from the harsh desert conditions. Sourced from the nuts and antioxidant-rich byproducts of the argan tree, “argan oil is composed of a high percentage of vitamin E (more than twice as much as olive oil). The remainder of the oil is made up of 80% fatty acids, including hard to obtain Omega 6 and Omega 9 acids.”
Argan Oil can be used in a variety of ways to moisturize and treat skin conditions head to toe. The high levels of antioxidants and vitamin E help to protect skin from environmental factors, minimize fine lines, restore elasticity, improve skin tone and sooth skin irritations.

Kahina Giving Beauty:
Founder and CEO Katherine L’Heureux plays an active role in sourcing the nuts to be used in production of the oil. By being physically present regularly in the harvesting and production processes, Katherine ensures only top quality oil. By using nuts only with the pulp intact, Kahina produces a higher quality oil than lesser grade oils that use “goat nuts” in their production.
Kahina Giving Beauty consciously works to improve the lives of the Berber woman of Morocco who do the hard work of extracting the oil from the nut. Kahina actively supports the Berber woman by ensuring fair wages, ethical treatment and by providing the women and their communities with funding and donations.
The argan oil is housed in violet glass packaging to preserve the integrity of the nutrients and antioxidants of the oil. A glass dropper dispenses the oil, keeping the bottle free on any contamination, as well as allowing you more control of how much you use. You will be amazed at how much just one drop will do. To me, the oil has a light scent slightly reminiscent of olive oil.
Kahina’s Argan oil can be used in a number of ways on the face, hair and body. I find it extremely versatile and beneficial at a variety of tasks. I continue to find uses for this little miracle oil even after a months passing. Here is a list of some ways I use it:
- As a facial moisturizer.
- Applied as a body oil, concentrating on areas that require a little more attention (three days to buttery smooth elbows!).
- To moisturize hands and cuticles.
- On hair to relieve frizz and add shine. I apply it to damp hair starting at the ends, working my way up. I also will use it after styling and to smooth fly-aways. It makes hair healthier and sleeker without weighing it down.
- At night to moisturize my eye lashes and brows.
- Mixed into my foundation to add some extra moisture and to allow better application, as suggested by Kahina PR. I absolutely love to use the oil this way.
- Added to powder makeup to create cream products and to create a glow.
Kahina’s Argan oil has been nothing short of a miracle to my dry skin. I use it everyday after cleansing, with or without moisturizer. Just two drops is sufficient enough to moisturize the entire face and neck. With a pressing motion I place the oil onto my skin. It absorbs incredibly fast, imparting a glowing complexion (not greasy in any sense). My skin is intensely moisturized and any dehydration lines disappear giving me a overall more youthful appearance. In a matter of days, that dry and uncomfortable skin has gone away, along with some bumps along my jawline.
Kahina’s Argan Oil has found a place amidst my very short list of absolute must-haves. I highly recommend this oil to anyone and not just to those with dry skin. However, dry-skinned girls rejoice!
Kahina Giving Beauty Argan Oil comes in two sizes.
30ML – $36 – 100ML – $82

It’s not news that coconut oil can be used in a variety of ways for our health, both internally and externally. With antioxidant, anti fungal, antibacterial, and soothing properties, just to name a few, coconut oil carries an array of benefits. The presence of lauric acid, captic acid and caprylic acid helps make this oil so beneficial. There are countless ways to utilize coconut oil for our health and I find more and more uses are sprouting up. Virgin coconut oil has found a place among beauty staples and I wanted to share with you the various ways in which I personally use it.
Moisturizer – Coconut oil can be used as a head to toe moisturizer. It isn’t as slick as some other oils and has a quicker rate of absorption. I love to use it in the summer to create a sheer and luminous finish on my skin, sometimes mixing it with foundation and a bit of shimmer to my legs (like I did here). After exfoliating, in the shower I will use it mixed along with some Vaseline and hang out in a terry robe. The next day my skin is baby soft! I have also heard it to be a good acne treatment.
Hair Mask – This oil naturally mimics the oils found in our hair, I’ve actually heard it is the closest to it, making it the ultimate hair moisturizing treatment. I will coat my hair from scalp to ends, with about a quarter cup of oil an hour before showering, or use it as an overnight treatment. After use my hair does not feel limp and greasy. I recommend testing out how much product is right for you before venturing out of the house.
Scalp Treatment – My ultimate favorite use for coconut oil is as a scalp treatment. Coconut oil can be used as a treatment for various scalp issues including dandruff, psoriasis, dermatitis and even lice because of its anti fungal and antibacterial properties. I personally suffer from scalp dermatitis, which can be quite uncomfortable, my scalp often switching from dry to oily. Coconut oil, when massaged into my scalp, instantly soothes and regulates it, whether it is in a dry or oily stage. For people with scalp issues I highly recommend this instead of expensive scalp treatments that are loaded with chemicals, it has worked better than anything I have tried.
Base for homemade scrub – I will take 2 parts granulated sugar or salt (opting for dead sea mineral salt) and one part coconut oil, add a few drops of my favorite essential oils and use this as body scrub. It is fantastic to use this before a shave, with or without the scrub elements. The oil will protect your skin from the razor. You could also make a lip scrub using two tablespoons of brown sugar, one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of coconut oil. It works wonderfully!
Do you use coconut oil? I would love to hear how!
