YOUNGBLOOD On-The-Go Beauty Set

I have been very eager to try the Youngblood cosmetics line. The people at Youngblood kindly sent me this set of six deluxe-sized samples of their best-selling products (thank you Crystal). The samples came in a beautiful eggplant faux-leather ostrich skin embossed makeup bag. The On-The-Go Set is a perfect way to introduce you to this mineral line that is chock full of skin healthy ingredients. The line is also cruelty and paraben free.

The On-the-Go Beauty Set (medium) contains:

  • Mineral Primer
  • Eye Impact Quick Recovery Eye Cream
  • Mineral Radiance Moisture Tint
  • Mineral Radiance Moisture Tint ILLUMINATING
  • Liquid Mineral Foundation
  • Mineral illuminating Tint BODY

Mineral Primer

The Mineral Primer is the silkiest of primers that I have come across. If you could imagine, it’s even silkier than the Smashbox Photo Finish. The super lightweight and stunning formula disappears into the skin while rich minerals and vitamins protects skin from environmental damage. The primer helped to fill my pores, readying my skin for foundation.

Mineral Radiance Moisture Tint (warm)

The Moisture Tint hydrates skin and provides sheer coverage while protecting skin from environmental damage. The tint glides on beautifully providing moisture to the skin and producing a radiant glow. Your skin looks healthy and dewy, naturally. The Warm shade was too deep for my skin tone for this time of year but in the summer it would be perfect on top of a tan.

Mineral Radiance Tint ILLUMINATING (Golden Sun)

The Illuminating moisture tint contains a variety of skin healthy ingredients, including shea butter, coconut oil, and argan oil. The product is a liquid that gives your skin a subtle tint of illuminating warmth. I loved how this luminizer brightened up my complexion giving me a glowing and healthy look. The shimmer was very natural looking and like every other product I have tried in this set the scent was delightful.

Mineral Illuminating Tint BODY

Packed with moisturizers this tint evens out the skin on your body with a shimmering bronzed glow. This is a product I would absolutely use in the summer for radiant and smooth looking legs. I love applying shimmer to the legs, it gives the appearance of toned skin as well as adding length. I could smell the Shea and Coconut Oils more obviously on this product which is so lovely. Once set this product doesn’t budge. I only wish I had a warm vacation planned in the tropics so I could utilize this.

Liquid Mineral Foundation (Sun Kissed)

This Mineral Foundation contains a blend of “rare Reduced Salt Deep Sea Water, botanicals and more than 20 Ocean minerals to soothe and revitalize the skin” I love the ingredients in this foundation. I am pleased than while I am wearing makeup my skin is being taken care of at the same time. There is no doubt that this foundation feels wonderful on the skin. The formula is creamy and it applies beautifully with a foundation brush or a damp sponge. The coverage is light and Sun Kissed happened to be the perfect shade on me. The result was certainly radiant and glowing like everything else in the line. The foundation is virtually undetectable on the skin, its your skin but better. I absolutely love the mineral foundation and for those with drier skin this is perfect. I had some trouble with the sample packaging when the tube cracked and leaked the foundation. I also felt that the foundation didn’t have the longest wear time. Ultimately I loved it!

(wearing Youngblood Liquid Mineral Foundation, RMS un-cover up in 22, mascara, and lip balm ONLY)

Completed look (wearing Youngblood Liquid Mineral Foundation, RMS un-cover up, Youngblood Mineral Radiance Moisture Tint (illuminating) – on cheeks, MAC eyeshadow in Woodwinked, Make Up For Ever aqua liner, L’oreal Voluminous mascara, a small amount of Becca Cream blush in Bloom, Tarte Lip Stain in Charmed, set with Laura Mericer loose setting powder)

My overall Impression:

I had a very positive experience sampling Youngblood Cosmetics. I will undoubtedly be making future purchases. I love a natural look no-makeup look that appears luminous and this is ultimately what Youngbloods line of minerals provides. The line is in tune to my needs and want’s and each item I have sampled has been perfectly executed. The list of beneficial ingredients is only the cherry on top that makes the brand exceptional.

Burberry ‘Light Glow’ Blush in Peony

The Burberry Beauty brand has caught my interest for quite some time now. The look is models with subtle, sheer makeup that enhances features naturally. Makeup designed to create a natural look with ‘glows’, ‘mists’, and ‘sheers’ have only enticed me further. With products packaged in their iconic plaid the collection is just stunning.

I took a dive in to Burberry Beauty brand by picking up a light glow blush in Peony. Let me say that the quality and elegance is exquisite. The outside paper packaging itself is lovely and reminiscent to me of the brands iconic trenches. A velvet pouch with the classic plaid design hold the loveliest plaid-embossed, reflective compact. The compact is quite sturdy, made of plastic although seeming as if it is metal. The velvet pouch serves purpose in keeping your finger marks off the gun metal surface. The powder brush included is very soft, although I would not use it for full application it is perfect for touch-ups.

Opening to reveal the blush you come across the plaid design yet again, embossed onto the powder itself. Peony is a neutral pale-pink. It comes on more of a mid-tone pink than when viewed in the compact. The powder is especially fine and incredibly soft. The quality is superior with even application. Applied lightly, it imparts a beautiful healthy color. The blush can easily be layered to your personal tastes. The color is matte, although not flat. The shade imparts a radiant, healthy pop of color that lasted on me the entire day.

When using the Light Glow Blush, you will notice quite a strong aroma of roses. Fragrance in cosmetics is not something that I particularly enjoy, especially a floral scent. However, the scent does not seem to linger that long.

BECCA Ultimate Eye Quad in Night Star

Newly released from Becca, the Smoke & Grace Collection is inspired by understated glamour and classic elegance. Among the item’s released where four Ultimate Eye Color Quads containing four gorgeous shades in matte, demi-matte, and metallic finishes. Each palette contains “a harmonious mix of rich hues to create the perfect new smokey eye.”  One quad allows you to color, contour, and highlight eyes to create looks for both day and night.

I picked up Night Star from the Smoke & Grace collection. The palette contains a selection of cool-toned grey/greens.  The four shadows are highly pigmented and velvety smooth making application a breeze. The quality is top-notch and creating a smokey-eye has never been easier. They blend just beautifully and are easy to build. While they are soft they are not too soft, just the perfect consistency with zero fallout. The four shades worked perfectly together and the look had just the right amount of drama. I took a step out of my comfort zone by choosing this selection of hues but was completely comfortable with the result which was perfectly tasteful. I highly recommend the Eye Quads, they are absolutely stunning, a must!

The lightest shade in the Night Star palette is a white shimmering pearl, perfect for highlighting the eye. The second shade is aMetallic Celadon, the star of the palette. The third shade is an army green which contours beautifully. The last shade is a Jet Black and is perfect for lining the eye.

To create this look I started by applying the second shade all over my lid and into the crease, bringing it under and onto the lower lash line. I then took the third shade and created a v shape into my crease and on my top/outer lash line and outer lower lash line. I then lined my eyes with the fourth shade  using a damp angled liner brush. I finished by applying the first shade onto my brow bone and on the inner corner of my eyes. I am also wearing Becca’s Ultimate Color Gloss in Fallen Angel.

Becca Smoke & Grace Collection feature four Ultimate Eye Quads $40 ea.:

Astro Violet -contains Matte Black Fig, Metallic Plum, Metallic Platinum, and Matte Plum

Eclipsed – contains Metallic Silver, Metallic Champagne, Metallic Khaki, and Metallic Moss

Galactica – contains Matte Ebony, Metallic Peach, Metallic Brown, and Dark Matte Brown

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette – Swatches

Too Faced Natural Eye

Neutral Eye Shadow Collection

This palette has a great selection of natural shimmery and matte eyeshadows. This post was going to just be a swatch post but upon further inspection I have realized that this palette is an almost exect replica of Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. Seven out of the nine shadows are exact duplications of colors in the Naked Palette. Heaven and cocoa puff stand alone. Too Faced eye shadows apply well and last all day. This is a wonderful palette and a great alternative to the Urban Decay Naked Palette at $39. They have lots of wonderful palettes available at

Color descriptions and comparisons

Too Faced Eye Shadows : Urban Decay Naked Palette

Heaven (matte cream color) – No dupe

Silk Teddy (shimmery champagne) – Sin

Nude Beach (shimmery/sparkly taupe) – Sidecar

Honey Pot (shimmery gold) – Buck

Sexspresso (Bronze) – Smog

Erotica (brown with gold shimmer) – Darkhorse

Cocoa Puff (chocolate-brown with gold shimmer) – No dupe

The Too Faced Beauty Balm was a free gift. The coverage was very light, more like a tinted moisturizer than a true B.B. cream. The sample provided to me was far too dark for my completion.

 Any thoughts?
