Dreamy Pick February 2013

Houglass Ambient Lighting Powder – I’ve recently reviewed this ‘hot item’ and have since been using it daily. This yellow-toned setting powder (not to be confused as a highlighter) leaves me with a naturally radiant finish while masking red-tones. (review)

Kahina Giving Beauty Antioxidant Mask – Another product from Kahina featuring their precious Argan Oil along with rhassoul clay and antioxidants in a potent mask form.  The mask deeply cleanses, conditions and exfoliates skin. I have a review coming soon!

Kahina Giving Beauty Argan Oil – This product has been nothing short of a miracle to my dry skin. I have been hesitant to refer to myself as someone with dry skin since incorporating this oil into my daily routine. The oil absorbs quickly leaving my skin radiant and not in the least bit oily. There are also a million other ways in which I use it. (review)

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in #8 ‘Pink in Confidence’ – It’s no secret I have a thing for YSL lipsticks, the Rouge Volupte formulas being one of my favorite. I love this nude-pink shade from their new ‘Shine’ range for every day. (review)

RMS Beauty Un Cover Up – This product has superior concealing capabilities and is chock-full of natural and organic ingredients. So while I can sometimes get away with using this to conceal my under-eye circles I usually require something a bit more potent. Personally my favorite way to use this is as a foundation on my down days or when I want to give my skin some extra TLC. It melts perfectly into the skin providing light coverage with the most natural finish. (review)

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Shadow in Amethyst – These shadow sticks create an easy smokey-look in just a couple of swipes. The lasting ability is quite exceptional and I am simply smitten with the shade Amethyst. (review)

RMS Beauty Raw Coconut Cream & Lip and Skin Balm

rms lip and skin balm review

RMS Lip & Skin Balm (simply vanilla)

Made of superior food-grade biologically active ingredients, this all natural, certified organic balm is a little jar of miracles. It has a subtle sweet vanilla scent that isn’t long to linger. Coconut oil is the first ingredient and determinate of the temperature it can either become firm in the jar or soft, but never to the point of melting. I love the texture of this balm, it is not balmy but rather slick and shiny. Its moisturizing benefits lasts for hours quite impressively. This balm can be used almost anywhere you need some extra care, and works perfectly. I always keep it by my side and have found myself using it to moisturize my skin, highlight my cheekbones, as an under-eye cream, to tame fly-aways, to moisturize cuticles and elbows as well as a multitude of other ways.

I prefer natural and organic ingredients when seeking out lip balm because I find that their performance is undoubtedly superior. The chemicals and perfumes in unnatural balms can exacerbate your problem making applying lip balm a continuous cycle. I had this balm for about two months and once I strayed to another product my lips instantly felt the difference. The balm penetrates quickly and instantly soothes any stubborn dryness. My only complaint is that this little balm only lasted me 2 months, and at $25 a pop that’s quite a lot. Even though I will probably repurchase, it’s the tops!

rms raw coconut cream

RMS Raw Coconut Cream

RMS Raw coconut cream is untouched by heat or chemical treatment before, during ,or after processing leaving every living enzyme intact. We know that coconut oil has a multitude of uses and I’m absolutely crazy for it. That is why I have such a love for RMS Beauty, which in my opinion has the highest quality coconut oil out there. This ‘makeup remover’ comes in a glass jar and contains 2.5 oz of the purest coconut oil.

Branded as a ‘makeup remover’, this does just that extremely well. This product has many uses but I save this jar for the skin on my face. I melt about a quarter size amount in the palm of my hand and rub it all over my face to remove every last trace of makeup, removing it using a warm muslin cloth. Onto my eyes, coconut oil works beautifully to melt off even waterproof mascara. It’s a pure luxury and an experience to coat your face with this gorgeous oil at the end of the day. When I swapped this coconut oil out for another more affordable version, only then did I experience a substantial breakout. So I absolutely would drop another $18 for this creme de la creme of coconut oils.
